Luusua, who lives in Rovaniemi and represented the Pyhätunturi ski club, has announced that he will end his career. His future plans are still open. "At first I will continue my summer holiday, which started after the last WC race. It is time to enjoy because there is no schedule anymore I have to follow," says Luusua.

During his sport career Luusua finished his studies and graduated as master's of managerial economics, with the main subject area accountancy. "All my courses and the thesis are done in fall and need to look for a job in my profession," continued Luusua confidently.

The Finnish mogul skier had a long and successful career even though he had a few bad injuries in mid 2000. The memorable things for him though were victories and the Olympic Games.

"Throughout my career I was able to experience great things, and gain life experience. Even though the World Cup venues are quite the same every year, but still see them from a different angle each time you go there," Luusua said about his career.

Luusua had almost 100 WC starts; his first one was in 1999. The top of his career was the 2009 World Championships, from which Luusua returned with 2 medals, a silver in moguls skiing and a bronze in dual moguls.

In 2000, Luusua won gold in the Junior World Championship in Ovindol ITA. The first World Cup win came in 2002 in Ruka, Finland. During his career Luusua represented Finland in 2 Olympic Games. In Salt Lake City in 2002 he was 5th and in Vancouver he finished 21st. He missed the 2006 Torino Games because of injury.
