Successful Skicross Week in Grindelwald

The World Cup ski cross race in Grindelwald was held under ideal conditions. After the final leg had to be canceled on Thursday due to bad visibility, conditions were much better Friday and the Oberjoch piste was well prepared.

 

Men: Norwegian victory

In a final race that was exciting and enthralling, the Norwegian Audun Groenvold won ahead of the Swiss Olympic champion, Mike Schmid. The Canadian Christopher Delbosco ended up third, while Lars Lewen of Schweden took fourth.

 

Ladies: Canadian dominance

Kelsey Serwa of Kanada claimed victory, followed by her teammate and Olympic gold medalist Ashley McIvor and Danielle Poleschuk rounded out the podium in third. Hence, the top 3 racers were all Canadians, followed by the Swedish Anna Holmlund, who finished fourth.

 

Next races in Meiringen-Hasliberg

The next races will take place in Meiringen-Hasliberg, March 13 and 14. Practice runs and qualification will be on Saturday, with the finals taking place Sunday.
