Deer Valley, USA, 30 January 2013 - Deer Valley has been hosting moguls, aerials, and the occasional ski cross event since the 2000 season, and is renowned by both athletes and fans for being a major highlight on the freestyle calender. As the host venue of the moguls and aerials events for the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympic Games, Deer Valley's facilities are second-to-none, and with all manner of both literal and figurative fireworks planned on and around the hill, the weekend of 31 January-2 February promises to be one of the most exciting of the 2012-13 FIS Freestyle World Cup season.
After Wednesday's celebratory opening night featuring bands, fireworks, and a full-blown street party, things really get going on Thursday, 31 January, with the individual moguls event kicking off three nights of competition under the lights. The next day, Friday, 1 February, the world's best aerialists will take to the skies for their second night event of the season. And finally, on Saturday, 2 February, the mogulists return to the Deer Valley's “Champion” run to go head-to-head in a duals competition that's sure to tear the (theoretical) roof off of the weekend.
